Although your iPhone comes with an excellent recording app, I like iTalk because it lets me name each recording either before or after I record. There is both a free and paid version (no ads). With Apple's Voice Memos there is a workaround to name a memo, but it is cumbersone. iPhone (+iPad)

After using many movie-finding apps, I love this one. It not only shows you everything that is playing at a glance, but who is starring, critic vs. people ratings, previews, times, and places. iPhone and iPad.

Whenever you hear a song playing and can't identify it – on the car radio, at a friend's house, anywhere – you activate the Shazam application. It "listens" to the song and then displays the artist and title (and has a link to buy it). iPhone and iPad.
